DARYL Murphy has revealed he has not spoken to Paul Jewell over turning his loan move from Celtic into a permanent one.
Murphy has made 15 starts for Ipswich this season, scoring twice, and reports north of the border suggest they would be happy to sell the 28-year-old.
But Murphy said: “There is nothing going on at the minute. The manager and me haven’t talked about it. We are just concentrating on getting points on the board. I am here until the end of the season and we will see what happens after that.”
But the lack of negotiations between player and manager hasn’t deterred Murphy from thinking about the future.
He said: “I would consider a move here. I have really enjoyed it but there are still a lot of games left to play and that decision is not down to me.”
After consecutive wins against West Ham and Coventry, Murphy believes it will be a confident Town team that takes on Middlesbrough today.
He explained: “There is a buzz back around the training ground. Everyone seems to be in good spirits and it raises some confidence going into the Middlesbrough match. We just want to keep winning.”
Murphy continued the praise for Michael Chopra following the striker’s return of form – which the left winger believes has lifted the entire club.
He added: “He (Chopra) was flying in training before he started (against West Ham) and he got his chance and he took it. He’s not looked back since. Every team needs a player who can win you a point or all three and we always knew Chops could do that. Sometimes you lose a bit of form and when you are not scoring, it can dent your confidence. But he has come back brilliantly and he is playing really well.”
IPSWICH Town Football Club has a golden opportunity to reconnect with its supporters.

For me, he has been an okay filler but shouldn't be taken on permamently. Nice to know communication from management is as slick as ever, though...

Maybe Jewell is just too embarrassed to talk about yet another utterly pointless loan.... and the fact that even he probably doesnt know if he himslef will be here next season.
