IPSWICH Town striker Nathan Ellington has joined struggling League One side Scunthorpe United on loan.
Since Paul Jewell brought his former Wigan and Derby forward to Portman Road on a two-year deal, the 31-year-old has started just three games and made a further 16 substitute appearances.
And having seen moves to Bristol Rovers and Notts County blocked in the summer, new Blues boss Mick McCarthy has allowed the out-of-favour forward to join fourth-from-bottom third-tier side Scunthorpe on loan.
Ellington trained with Town this morning before heading to Glanford Park, where he will remain until Janaury 5.
He could make his debut for Iron in their home game against Notts County on Saturday.
IPSWICH Town will start their promotion push in the Championship next season away at Reading, followed with a home game against Millwall

He was never given a chance to show what he can do by PJ and I think the loan move to Scunthorpe will benefit both that club and Nathan. Anyway good luck to him there.

I am getting to like MM more by the day, two full backs and Ellington moved on all done in one week.. why PJ couldn't see this is baffling.

Most Town rejects of recent years have seen the third division as a stepping stone to playing at a higher level than Town within a year. Maybe The Duke will break that embarrasing mould.
