Hundreds of gardens will be opened up to the public in Suffolk to raise vital funds for a hospice in Ipswich.

St Elizabeth Hospice officially launches ‘The Great Garden Trail’ next Tuesday.

Around 100 people in east Suffolk will be opening their garden gates to share their cultivated lawns and flower beds over the coming months until July.

Brian Taylor, community fundraising co-ordinator at the sospice, said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the number of people opening their gardens. They range from wonderful large estates for people to small cottage plots and everything in between.

“I would like to thank everyone who has opened up their garden over the coming months to raise money for us and encourage our supporters to pick up a map from one of our shops and explore The Great Garden Trail.”

Glemham Hall will open its gardens from 11am on Sunday, May 28, costing £4.
