Empire Cinemas Ipswich turns one this Saturday - that’s 400,000 bottoms on seats, more than 300 different films, 3,600kg of pick and mix, 6,500 hot dogs and 1,500 slices of cake.
The state-of-the-art, 14-screen complex, located in The Buttermarket Centre, is celebrating by changing its prices. Adult tickets now start at £6.45 and £7.45 at the weekend. Child, student and senior tickets are £5 all day, every day with the usual upscaling for 3D, DBox, Impact and sofas or recliners.
Jon Nutton, marketing director for Empire Cinemas, said: “We are thrilled to be celebrating Empire Cinemas Ipswich’s first birthday; it’s been a fantastic year. We pride ourselves on offering customers the very best in big screen entertainment and we’ve been overwhelmed at the support and fantastic comments we have had from customers over our first year.”
Ipswich cinema-goers’ favourite top five films over the past 12 months were Star Wars The Last Jedi, Dunkirk, The Greatest Showman, Despicable Me 3 and Black Panther.
