Nile Rodgers and Chic play Newmarket Nights 2018

Nile Rodgers is responsible for some of the best-known pop anthems over the last four decades. Now he and Chic, the group he co-founded, are coming to Newmarket Nights.
The multiple Grammy winning composer, producer, arranger and guitarist and co play the racecourses on August 10. Tickets go on pre-sale 8am, February 7 and general sale 8am, February 9 via thejockeyclublive.co.uk.
Amy Starkey, regional director east of Jockey Club Racecourses, said: “We’re delighted. With such an amazing catalogue of hits, they are the perfect artist to spend a summer evening dancing to.”
Acts already announced include Paloma Faith, June 22; James Blunt, June 29; Craig David, July 20; Plan B, July 27; and George Ezra, August 17. The Vamps headline Summer Saturday Live on August 25.
As the co-founder of Chic, Nile pioneered a musical language that generated chart-topping hits like Le Freak, sparked the advent of hip-hop with Good Times and won them 11 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominations.
His work in the Chic Organization and his productions for artists like David Bowie, Diana Ross and Madonna have sold more than 300 million albums and 50million singles worldwide. His collaborations with Daft Punk, Avicii, Sigala, Disclosure and Sam Smith reflect the vanguard of contemporary music.
