Almost 30 new beach huts are now available to buy at a popular seaside destination.

The new beach huts are a part of the ongoing regeneration of Felixstowe's South Seafront.

East Suffolk Council is working with Scott Beckett Estate Agents for the sale of the new beach huts, which will be set in landscaped grounds, primarily set around a central ‘fish-shaped’ lawn

The beach huts' price range from £22,000 to £35,000.

It comes after the controversial move of some of the beach huts on Felixstowe promenade late last year

In March a number of beach huts were damaged after they were washed across the seafront during the high tides

Councillor Toby Hammond, East Suffolk’s cabinet member for Economic Development said: “The new facilities, combined with the new beach huts, landscaping, and activity park all currently under construction at the seafront will create a welcoming space for residents and visitors to enjoy, as well as improving accessibility for all.

"The Seashore Village development is part of exciting wider regeneration work which is underway in Felixstowe.”

The new timber huts will be available to own, with the first huts now being released for sale. Huts are being sold on a long-lease arrangement and full details are available from Scott Beckett by calling 01394 338000.

Five of the beach huts have been designed with accessibility and inclusivity in mind. These huts will be available for short-term hire.

Construction is also progressing on the new activity park, which will feature exercise equipment, a climbing wall, concrete table tennis facilities, pétanque court, accessible picnic benches, chess tables and an outdoor work-out space.
