Two Suffolk curry houses have named as finalists in a prestigious restaurant awards.
Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards (ARTA) has named Eastern Spice, in Ipswich's Woodbridge Road, and Lime Takeaway in St Olaves Road in Bury St Edmunds, in finalists of the regional takeaway of the year for East Anglia.
The nominations were made by the public, before an assessment which included judging the establishments of quality of service, quality of product, value for money and hygiene ratings.
Salik Mohammed Munim, founder of the awards, said: “The UK’s popular Asian restaurant industry, known for its resilience in weathering operational and business challenges such as staff shortages and the Covid pandemic, now faces a new set of challenges during the current cost of living crisis.
"The prices of products, ingredients and energy have risen significantly while customers are also facing the pinch.
