Meteorologist at the Met Office, Annie Shuttleworth, said: "A band of heavy rain will gradually make progress towards the UK as the day progresses.

"The southeast and central areas should stay dry through most of the day but it will cloud over as the day goes on.

"It will be feeling very mild and probably a bit muggy.

"The band of quite heavy and blustery rain will push eastwards through the course of Saturday evening, and that should clear by Sunday morning."

According to the warning, bus and train services will probably be affected with journey times taking longer, as will spray and flooding on roads.

Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely, as is some interruption to power supplies and other services.
