With the hot weather and longer days, summer is the perfect time for events happening in summer - some of which boast well known celebrities coming to the town. 

Here are five big names coming to Ipswich this summer. 

1 + 2. Jessie J and Jess Glynne

Where: Trinity Park

Two of the UK's biggest pop stars are headlining the in2music event at Trinity Park. 

Jess Glynne is the first British female solo artist to have seven number-one singles on the UK singles chart and has won a Grammy for her work.

BRIT award-winning singer Jessie J has more than 1.5 billion song streams and 23 million record sales to date.

She said: "This is going to be so great, headlining with Jess Glynne will be so much fun, and it's our first show together this summer."

3. Frank Skinner

Where: Ipswich Corn Exchange

Frank Skinner is known for his impressive comedy career which spans more than 30 years and last year was awarded an MBE for services to entertainment. 

He is known for hosting the BBC show Room 101 and made appearances on shows such as Taskmaster.

Following a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe and 7 nights at the Lyric Theatre in London, Skinner is set to spend the first six months of 2024 touring the UK with his new show' 30 Years of Dirt'.

4. John Bishop

Comedian John Bishop is heading back on tour following time as a TV presenter and acting in shows including Doctor Who. 

Announcing the new tour, Bishop said: "I'm delighted to be hitting the road again with my new show."

Due to popularity, the comedian announced in December an extra show in Ipswich.

5. Showaddywaddy

The hit 70s and 80s band is heading on a 50th anniversary tour with shows across the country. 

Since forming in Leicester in 1973, Showaddywaddy has gone on to sell over 20 million records. 

The anniversary tour will feature all of the band's greatest hits such as Under The Moon of Love and Three Steps to Heaven.
