Claydon High School has been recognised for its sporting prowess by achieving the School Games Mark silver award.
The Government-backed scheme was launched in 2012 by the Youth Sport Trust, and rewards schools which develop sporting competition in the community.
Among the school’s successes this year have been winners in volleyball, table tennis and golf, and finalists in streetgolf and athletics.
Around 170 pupils at the school have taken part in an inter-school competition this year.
Andy Wilshaw, head of PE said: “We are extremely proud of our students and staff for their dedication to all aspects of sport.
“We had to fulfil certain criteria in areas of competition, participation, leadership and clubs and are pleased that this hard work has been rewarded.”
The school is looking to continue its strong sports take-up and plans to apply again in 2018.
