It wouldn’t be the summer holidays if you didn’t get caught out by the rain, but families braved the showers today to enjoy a Movie Family Fun Day at Holywells Park in Ipswich.

The free event was part of Ipswich Borough Council’s programme of summer activities and saw popular children’s films, Dreamworks’ Trolls and Disney’s Zootropolis, screened in Myrtle Meadow.

Richard Sharp, park project officer, said: “We were really pleased with the event. We had more than 300 people attending the first film.

“Although the rain came to Holywells Park towards the end of Zootropolis, we still had a lot of brave folk under their umbrellas who watched it until the end.

“We’re hoping the sun will shine on next week’s family fun day which will have lots of activities for the children, including Punch and Judy, bouncy castles and much more.”
