West Suffolk College has linked up with the EADT and Ipswich Star to release for sale 10 ‘golden tickets’ to a dinner cooked by students and Albert Roux.

How would you like to spend General Election night not in front of the TV but enjoying an exquisite five-course meal courtesy of renowned Michelin star chef Albert Roux and the Culinary Arts Academy at West Suffolk College? Readers of the EADT and Ipswich Star are exclusively being invited to purchase tickets to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime culinary experience. Chef Roux is kindly returning to West Suffolk College in Bury St Edmunds to host a refined and black tie evening from 7pm on Thursday, June 8 at Edmunds Fine Dining Restaurant.

The event is strictly for invited guests and VIPs, but the college is releasing for sale 10 tickets to our readers.

Priced at £125 each (or a table of 10 can be purchased), diners will experience a canape reception followed by citrus cured Scottish salmon with Cromer crab, avocado, fennel and pink grapefruit (or burrata, grilled peach, fennel and white balsamic).

To follow is rump of new season lamb with potato and oregano terrine, English peas and jus, or soft polenta with feta, courgette, tomato and wood-fired pepper chutney.

And to finish a white chocolate and mascarpone mousse with Suffolk strawberries and basil, then coffee and petit fours.

Being served with the starter and main course are L’Empreinte de Saint Mont Blanc, AOC Saint-Mont, Producteurs Plaimont 2011, and a Cotes-du-Rhone Rouge ‘Les Becs Fins’, Tardieu-Laurent 2015.

Get your ‘golden ticket’ by contacting ruth.currie@wsc.ac.uk. The offer expires on Monday, May 29.
