A drink-driver been disqualified from driving for 36 months after misjudging the amount of wine she consumed.
Julie Smith, 50, of Station Road, Framlingham, admitted drink-driving and having no insurance on July 3 when she appeared before Ipswich magistrates. The offences also put her in breach of a suspended prison term which she was given in January for theft by employee.
Smith’s vehicle was stopped in Ranelagh Road, Ipswich, at around 5.50pm. A breath test showed she had 41 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.
Smith had a previous conviction for drink-driving in January 2014.
Claire Furlong, mitigating, said her client was surprised to be over the limit as she only had two glasses of wine, but later discovered they were quite generous measures.
Smith was also fined £145 and must pay £40 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
