Drink-driving while more than twice the limit in Ipswich has cost a man his licence, his job and a substantial amount of money,
The magistrates’ court in Ipswich heard Yequilson Da Costa Domingos bought the Citroen he was driving on finance and now faces a hefty bill after being disqualified from driving for 16 months.
The 26-year-old pleaded guilty to drink-driving and not having an MoT certificate after being stopped in Salthouse Street on July 30.
A breath test showed he had 75 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.
Jeremy Kendall, representing Da Costa Domingos of Greenwich in east London, said his client had bought the Citroen on HP and the agreement still had four years left to run. He would also lose his job if he lost his licence.
In addition to a ban Da Costa Domingos must pay £525 in a fine and costs.
