A man charged over an alleged rape has made his first appearance in court.
Mohammed Al Jaf Sarteb Sabir, of Cromer Road, Ipswich, appeared at West Suffolk Magistrates’ Court.
The 21-year-old is charged over the rape of a 27-year-old woman in Cromer Road, Ipswich, at around 8.30pm on Monday.
As two members of his family looked on from the public gallery, he was remanded in custody and will next appear at a preliminary hearing at Ipswich Crown Court on Tuesday, March 18, at 10am.
His trial window was set between July 21 and August 29.
