A 24-year-old man was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to rape at Ipswich Crown Court.
Adam Hassan, of Woodbridge Road, Rushmere St Andrew, was arrested in June last year after police received a report of rape from a 17-year-old girl.
The incident occurred at the YMCA in Wellington Street, Ipswich, on June 27, 2013. The girl met up with Mr Hassan at the property, where he took her to his room and forced her to commit a sexual act..
Hassan was arrested and subsequently charged. He pleaded guilty to rape and was sentenced to four years imprisonment. At the hearing he was also sentenced to six weeks for failure to appear after he did not answer bail for the offence. The two sentences will run consecutively.
