A LOVING mum has been left speechless by the generosity of complete strangers who are helping her three daughters in their battle against cystic fibrosis.

Dawn Robinson and her husband David have embarked on a £10,000 fundraising mission to buy a physiotherapy vest to help children Sophie, 15, Scarlett, four, and two-year-old Spring, breathe more easily.

Just 10 days after launching their appeal, around £2,000 has been raised via a head shave and donation, including a cheque for £1,000 from an anonymous donor.

Mum-of-five Mrs Robinson, of Clump Field, Ipswich, said: “We are just amazed with the amount raised already and we want to thank everyone for their support and generosity.

“The response has been brilliant and I’ve had a family message me saying they want to do some fundraising for us because of a member of their family died from cystic fibrosis aged eight.

“Another lady wants to do a sponsored power walk in May with other little fundraising events as well.”

Family friend Chris Catling raised around £800 for the Robinson’s fund last weekend by having his long locks shaved off.

His hair was donated to The Little Princess Trust to provide wigs for children suffering from hair loss.

Mrs Robinson, 35, added: “Chris ended up having his whole head shaved off so people pledged to sponsor him even more money.

“It raised around £800 but that’s not the final total.”

Sophie was diagnosed with the condition aged eight, Scarlett at just four weeks and Spring when she was one-and-a-half years old.

The couple, who also have children Summer, nine, and Declan, eight, bought a nebuliser last Christmas to help the girls.

The money will be spent on a physiotherapy vest which vibrates the lungs to help breathing as well as a chamber and filters for the nebuliser to last a year.

The girls have regular clinic appointments, check-ups and courses of antibiotics given intravenously in hospital.
