Lorry drivers have reported being shot at while driving along an A14 diversion route in east Suffolk.

Suffolk police said the incidents happened between 9.30pm last night and 2.30am this morning along Walton High Street, Felixstowe.

Five heavy goods vehicles were following a diversion due to the closure of the A14 eastbound when they claim to have been shot between the junctions of Gulpher Road and Church Lane.

It is thought the weapon was an airgun.

A spokesman for Suffolk police said: “None of the drivers were injured, but in each case the vehicle cabs sustained damage.”

Officers are appealing for information after the reported incidents.
