A lorry brought down telephones lines in Felixstowe after a collision this morning.
Cables were brought down in the High Street after a crash at 8.20am this morning although the telegraph pole remained standing.
It is believed a refuse truck had collided with the telephone wires.
Suffolk police said they contacted BT Openreach and vehicle recovery arrived at the scene at 9.15am today.
A spokesman for Openreach said it had not received any reports of faults in the area.
He said: “An Openreach engineer has attended the site where a road traffic accident damaged a telegraph pole on Felixstowe High Street.
“The pole and wires were made safe by the engineer and temporary service has been provided to local residents.
“The permanent repair work will require surveys and possible traffic management, which we will aim to complete as soon as possible.
“We’ve no reported faults, however, if any residents do experience any loss of service, we suggest it is reported to their service provider straight away.”
It is not known who the operator of the refuse truck is.
Suffolk Coastal Norse, who run council waste collection services, said they were unaware of any of their trucks being involved in a collision.
