A man tasered and arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm following a police chase close to Ipswich Railway Station last week will face no further action.
Police were called at around 10.20am on Thursday, November 30, after receiving reports that a man had been seen sitting in a Vauxhall Astra with a firearm in Hadleigh Road.
A short police pursuit took place and the vehicle was brought to a stop in Willoughby Drive. A police car hit a wall of a block of flats during the chase.
Around eight police cars, a dog unit and at least ten police officers were seen in Willoughby Road and Belstead Road at the time of the incident.
The suspect, a man in his 20s, fled his vehicle and was later tasered by officers and arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent.
However, Suffolk police have confirmed the man has been released from custody and will face no further police action.
