Terence O'Mahony still has fond memories of his wonderful and much-admired Vauxhall Cresta.
My first car was a 1963 Vauxhall Cresta PB which I bought in 1975 for £150.
It had a 2,651cc, six-cylinder engine, with a three-speed column gear change, bench seats and wood veneer dashboard. I had the engine rebuilt and the bodywork redone.
Driving the car was wonderful – you felt so comfortable and it handled very well. People would admire the car at many places I drove to.
Sadly, due to employment problems, I had to sell it. I often wonder if my wonderful Cresta is still on the road – it was a car to be proud of.
