A man from Suffolk has been killed in an industrial accident at a Toyota factory in Derbyshire.
The 56-year-old was killed after becoming trapped between two lorries at the plant in Burnaston, Derbyshire at around 12.40am.
The man is believed to be from the Thurston area, but has not yet been formally identified. His family have been informed.
It is believed he worked for a company based in Felixstowe and Bury St Edmunds.
Derbyshire Police and the Health and Safety Executive are carrying out a joint investigation, although the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
A statement from Toyota Manufacturing UK said: “It is with great regret that I must inform you that we had a severe incident on site last night which unfortunately resulted in a lorry driver receiving serious injuries resulting in his death.
“We are not able to give any details but we are supporting the authorities with their enquiries.
“We extend our condolences to the driver’s family and friends.”
