Organisations in a Suffolk town are teaming up to tidy litter from their streets and help preserve the environment.
Transition Woodbridge, which is a community-led group aiming to reduce oil dependency and prevent changing climate, is inviting people to take part in The Great British Spring Clean from March 2-4.
The group is working with Woodbridge Women’s Institute, the town council and Suffolk Norse to organise the tidy up.
“It is essential people are aware that litter dropped on our streets will often find its way, through drains or by the wind, into our beautiful river and then the sea – leading to problems highlighted in Blue Planet,” a spokesman for Transition Woodbridge said.
The group will be starting at the A12 and is looking for volunteers to join in. Equipment will be provided.
Contact springcleanwoodbridge@gmail.com for more details of how to take part.
