Should you wrap up warm, take a raincoat or set off early to catch a replacement bus?

Weather

Today’s (March 4) weather is looking relatively dry in Ipswich, with some showers this morning set to make way for cloudy spells with spots of sunshine breaking through. You should be able to leave the raincoat at home.

Kick off at 3pm is set to coincide with the highest temperature of the day, with highs of 11C.

During the match temperatures will fall to around 8C before the final whistle, so depending on your constitution, you may want to bring an extra layer or two. Winds will remain around 8mph throughout the day.

If you are planning on staying out for post match celebrations/commiserations, the rest of the evening will remain dry, breezy and overcast, with temperatures of around 7C.

Travel

If you are arriving by car, you will need to allow time for the pre-match congestion. Bear in mind that ongoing roadworks near the train station may make your journey times longer, with a road closure on Ranelagh Road between the junctions with Princes Street and Ancaster Road.

The A14 and A12 currently have no planned roadworks in the Ipswich area, with the ongoing 40mph limit near Rougham, between Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket, likely to effect fans travelling along the A14 from the west of the county.

If you are travelling in by train from within Suffolk there are currently no major disruptions on services to Ipswich. The only Ipswich line affected by planned engineering works is the Norwich to London Liverpool Street line. There will be no services today between London Liverpool Street and Ingatestone or Southend Victoria and Southminster all day. They will be replaced by busses.
