NBL Division Two Nottingham Hoods 104 Ipswich 48 Ipswich’s Senior Men succumbed to a heavy defeat on the road at league leaders Nottingham Hoods.
In the second meeting this year between the two sides, Nottingham’s new American arrival Tevis Robinson made a huge impact and the hosts’ outstanding perimeter shooting and active defence were too much for Ipswich, who struggled offensively throughout.
After a scrappy but even opening quarter in which both sides limited their opponents’ offensive production, Ipswich trailed by just four – but while Nottingham were able to continue forcing errors from the Ipswich offense, the same was not true for the Suffolk side.
The Hoods scored 68 points in the second and third quarters combined, shooting 64% from the field in that time. Luke Mitchell was blistering from three-point range, finishing with 20 points, while Robinson, Delaney Powell and David Watts all contributed.
Quan Gill, Rabi Rai and Jonny Hall top scored for Ipswich with eight each.
