CCIS aims to raise £250,000 to provide an all purpose mobile cancer information service that will take aspects of the charity's information centre to the people who are unable to travel to Ipswich or are unaware of our services.

The CCIS Mobile Cancer Information Unit will be a purpose built vehicle that will travel to various locations Suffolk to improve access to high quality cancer information and support to the general public free of charge.

The mobile unit will also be available to target the specific groups through schools, sports facilities and clubs, with cancer prevention information highlighting how to reduce cancer risk by making healthy lifestyle choices.

The unit will be staffed by a registered professional and volunteers who will be able to provide services such as outreach complementary therapies; health & wellbeing advice, practical help and one to one support.

The unit will be equipped with take home information leaflets on bowel, lung, skin, testicular, prostate, cervical, ovarian and breast cancer.

A trained professional will be able to talk to people one to one in our private area about any concerns they have about cancer for themselves, a relative, work colleague or neighbour.
