10 amateur dancers wanted for Inspire Suffolk’s Strictly Charity event at Trinity Park on July 22

Five men and women will learn how to dance for 10 weeks with a qualified dancer from the Ipswich School of Dancing before performing two dance routines at the event, named Strictly Charity, at Trinity Park on Saturday, July 22.

The Inspire Suffolk event is based on the hit BBC celebrity ballroom show Strictly Come Dancing and raises money for the Ipswich-based charity.
Ipswich’s Robin Windsor, who was a former professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing, has been announced as one of the celebrity judges on the panel.
Crystal Barber, fundraising and events officer at Inspire Suffolk, an Ipswich-based educational and sports charity which helps young people, said: “Our Strictly Charity fundraiser is always a popular and energetic night.
“Everyone works so hard training ahead of the finale, and it’s all for a fantastic cause. We are very grateful to be working with Ipswich School of Dancing again and look forward to an amazing grand finale.”
Each participate would raise funds for Inspire Suffolk, which is independently-funded education support charity which harnesses the power of sport to motivate, inspire and improve the life chances of troubled young people in Suffolk.
The charity mainly works with young people who are NEET (not in employment, education or training) and guides them to fulfilling futures. They engage with other young people, such as those with physical and learning disabilities, through a range of sports and character-building, qualification-gaining programmes.

The charity helps 3,000 people a year, including 250 NEETs.
Inspire Suffolk needs £1million to run every year, and relies on public support, donations, corporate support, grants and funding.
Emma Hawley, of the Ipswich School of Dancing, said: “We’re very excited to be joining forces with Inspire Suffolk for this event once again.
“Our dance school is proud to support their charity carrying out life changing work with local young people.”
Those interested in taking part are asked to register their interest with Inspire Suffolk. Training starts on May 10 at Inspire Suffolk’s base in Lindbergh Road.
