Half term is nearly over and you have exhausted your usual list of family activities - arts and crafts, cinema trip and a day out at the park.
Here we offer some ideas to keep the children, plus mum and dad, entertained this weekend before school starts again on Monday.
Spooktacula, Bury St Edmunds Library - Saturday, 9am to 1pm
Halloween-themed crafts and stories for children, featuring an unlucky dip.
Pop along to these free session and perhaps have a browse of the children’s section while you are there.
Lavenham Children’s Festival, Lavenham Village Hall - Saturday, various times
This is the first ever Lavenham Children’s Festival with lots of exciting activities for youngsters and their families including storytelling and workshops on drawing, writing and illustrating.
The festival started today and tomorrow’s events include the chance to meet the UK Children’s Laureate and renowned illustrator, Chris Riddell while Gary Northfield will take you back to Roman Times, with Julius Zebra.
Full of Roman facts and drawing tips, this session will have children laughing out loud as master cartoonist Gary introduces the hilarious world of Julius Zebra.
Tickets range from £3 to £6 per child, with one adult free per child.

This is an action-packed day of Halloween fun with Cantors Theatre School kicking off the event at 10am with a performance on the Triangle Market. The popular local theatre school will perform a range of musical acts and dance with a Halloween theme.
The main attraction of Spooky Saturday is the free Pumpkin trick or treat trail which is open to children under 12 years in Halloween fancy dress and under 12’s who are accompanied by an adult.
The trail which is takes place between 10am – 2pm includes over 50 shops located on the historic High Street, London Road North, Bevan Street, Suffolk Road, Station Square and the Britten Centre. Each will be displaying a carved pumpkin and Pumpkin Pod poster to demonstrate that they are part of the trail. Once a family has found a participating store they can enter the business for a free children’s treat.
Other entertainment in the town includes the “Day of the Dead Dress” street theatre performance which takes place outside the Britten centre at 10.45am. The act, which is repeated at 12pm and 2pm, is fully interactive and includes acrobats and a very interesting stage.
At 11.30am the goblins will be in town to look for the missing princess, but shoppers will need to be careful as this mischievous act are also looking for those that they can add to their pork pies.
In addition to the events hosted by Lowestoft Vision, those visiting the town can enjoy special Halloween events at Coffee Heart and Lowestoft Library.
Stowlangtoft Bonfire & Grand Fireworks Display - gates open at 6pm
Proceeds from this year’s firework display will go towards the repair of St Georges historic church.
The event takes place on the bonfire field at Kiln Lane, Stowlangtoft and there will be free parking opposite the entrance gate.
Entry costs £5 for adults, and £2.50 for children. Those under six go free.
Little Fort of Horrors at Landguard Fort, Felixstowe - Saturday, 7pm to 11pm
Enter the Zombie Fortress - following an unidentified infection outbreak in Felixstowe, the ‘’URE’’ (Undead Research Establishment) has been set up at Landguard Fort where dedicated scientists, doctors and military personnel are caring for your infected family and friends.
Adults and Young People (aged 13-18) £8.00 (No under 13s)

Little Rascals, Snape Maltings - Saturday, 10am to 4pm
Try out colouring, printing, stencilling and storytelling with Top That Publishing at this fun day out for all the family.
Sessions are run on a drop-in basis from 10am to 4pm and there will be a chance to meet Arty Mouse and discover the wonderful selection of books for young learners which are fun and educational.
There will also be an opportunity to make a sparkly Christmas Star to take away with you from the new book ‘Christmas Craft to make and do’ as well as being entered into a draw for a bundle of Top That products.
Halloween at East Anglia Transport Museum, Lowestoft - Saturday, 2pm to 7pm
Some spooky things are happening around the site this Halloween. They will be holding a witch hunt for children and prizes will be given to all the little ones in fancy dress. The late running of the museum’s trams, trolleybuses and train into the evening will be a chilling experience for all as the woods come alive with the spirits.
Entry is £6 for children.
Drop-In Pumpkin Carving at East Town Park, Haverhill - Saturday and Sunday
Pop along for some pumpkin carving and save your own kitchen!
Sessions run through the day, so drop by during a day out at the park.
Halloween Treasure Trail at Nowton Park, Bury St Edmunds - Saturday and Sunday
Follow the spooky trail and collect the answers to the clues to win a treat. Tickets £1. No booking required - just pick up your quiz sheet from the Nowton Park café.
Spooky Spectacular at Baylham Farm, Baylham - Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 5pm
Meet and feed all the animals and have some ghoulish fun with activities including pumpkin carving, face painting, traditional Halloween games and a spooky maze... but will you be brave enough to enter?
Adult £7, Children (aged 4-16) £3, Under 4s free
Spooky fun at Easton Farm Park - Saturday and Sunday
There is a little bit of spooky and a lot of fun at Easton Farm Park this week. See the farmyard animals and get into the spirit of Halloween.
Plus entry is half price, with children charged just £4 or a family of four £16.
Archery adventures, Dairy Hill, Halesworth - Sunday 12pm to 2pm and 3pm to 5pm
Try your hand at ghoulish archery and see if you can take down the ghosts and goblins living in our targets.
This session runs from midday to 2pm and costs £2 for five arrows, or £10 per hour.
Alternatively, between 3pm and 5pm you can have a go at the newest hit in combat sports, archery tag zombies vs humans and see if you can protect the human race from certain destruction.
The first session is suitable for anyone aged six and over, while the later session is suitable for those aged 10 and over.
