An Ipswich library celebrated International Women’s Day by organising a pre-loved clothes sale and a fashion show.

Chantry Library hosted dozens of stallholders who offered pre-loved clothes, new jewellery and cosmetics on Wednesday.

The afternoon ended with a fashion show, thanks to the volunteers who took over the catwalk and presented second-hand clothes.

Vicki Mann, executive library manager for Chantry Library, said: “Our fashion show and clothing sale was very successful, and everyone enjoyed themselves.

“The event was very well supported with around 100 people taking part and we also raised £55 to help support Suffolk Libraries.

“The feedback was amazing and there was a buzz and a very good atmosphere throughout.

“My colleague Sarah Fuller who works in the library used the event to raise awareness about the importance of sustainability and how recycling clothes can help the environment.
