A 35-year-old man who committed a string of offences, including a robbery at an Ipswich restaurant and two burglaries on a single day in February, is facing a jail term when he is sentenced next month.

Antonio Wells, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty at Ipswich Crown Court today to robbing Max Clapson and Kieron Critch of cash at The Forge Kitchen in Duke Street on February 8.

The court heard Wells had previously also admitted a burglary at Bright Acres Hire or Buy in Felixstowe Road, Ipswich, during which a power drill was stolen on February 8, and a burglary at Coastal Building Supplies in Wentworth Road and stealing power tools, also on February 8.

He also admitted taking a Vauxhall Corsa without consent on February 8.

Richard Kelly, for Wells, said his client had planned to commit a commercial burglary at The Forge but when he found two people in the office he made a spur of the moment decision to demand money.

He said Wells was expecting a jail term but asked for an adjournment until the end of July to allow him to obtain material to present in mitigation.
