Forty-two Ipswich properties were hit by a power cut today.

Residents of Belle Vue Road were without electricity between 1.42pm and 3.50pm and two customers remained without power after this time.

EDF Energy Networks said the problem was caused by a fault on the low voltage underground network.

A spokesman said: “The final customers will be restored as soon as possible.

“We are committed to providing a reliable supply of electricity and would like to apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused.”
