79-year-old man struck by Land Rover in Norwich Road in Ipswich

A 79-year-old man has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a Land Rover in Ipswich.
The collision happened at 12pm today, Friday, January 19, in Norwich Road, close to the junction with Rayleigh Road.
According to a spokesman for Suffolk police the man suffered a broken ankle and a fractured or dislocated shoulder and was taken to Ipswich Hospital for treatment.
He said: We were called to day to a road traffic collision at 12pm involving a car and a pedestrian.
“A 79-year-old man was in collision with a green Land Rover.”
He said officers did not have to close the road while they worked at the scene.
A spokeswoman from the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 12.01pm to a road traffic collision in Norwich Road, Ipswich.
An ambulance attended and the patient, a man in his seventies, was taken to Ipswich Hospital in a stable condition.”
