A TOUCH of love is being added to the proceedings of one of the town's most popular comedy and cabaret events as for one night only it offers to bring lonely hearts together.

Glorious, which is held in Ipswich every month, is holding a Blind Date-style competition for those who are up for a laugh and a bit of romance.

The matchmaking contest promises to be just one of the highlights of next month's show.

In the meantime, however, the next Glorious is being held on Friday at Ipswich Town Hall and looks set to be a sold out spectacular.

Top comedians Brendhan Lovegrove, one of New Zealand's best exports, and Paul Sinha, one of Britain's budding Asian funnymen, will be tickling the audience's funnybone.

Tickets are on sale and with only a few still available, to guarantee a seat for the show that will kick off the weekend in style the recommendation is to buy them in advance.

Tickets cost £8 and £5 and can be bought by calling 01473 433100. If you want to risk turning up on the night, if there is any room available, entry will be £9 and £6.

Doors open at 8pm and the show will start at 8.30pm.

And if you fancy taking part in Glorious' Blind Date next month write down your details and reasons why you should be chosen and send them to Lorna Anderson, Old Bag Promotions, 394 Woodbridge Road, Ipswich, IP4 4EU.

Chosen contestants will receive free entry to November's Glorious and, should they be picked, will enjoy a ready-made date.
