Suffolk Constabulary have confirmed that traffic is now moving

Police and fire crews are currently attending a multi-vehicle collision on the A12 northbound carriageway between the A120 at Colchester and the B1070.

Highways England are reporting delays of up to 30 mins on the approach, but lane 2 has recently re-opened.

A police spokesman said that two drivers had been taken to hospital as a precaution.

A spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service added that one woman had to be cut free from a vehicle but is now understood to be in the care of the ambulance service.

Police had initially been called to reports of a car on fire at 8.25am.

The car is currently thought to be in the layby. No-one was hurt in the fire.
