Police and paramedics were called to a serious road accident on the A12 near East Bergholt at just before 2.30pm yesterday.

The collision involved a Vauxhall Corsa and a Kawasaki motorbike on the southbound stretch of the A12 near the B1068 turn-off.

The road did not reopen until about 10.30pm after the vehicles had been removed and road crash specialists had completed investigations at the scene.
