MOTORISTS being diverted off the A12 at Colchester are currently experiencing minor delays.
The A12 is closed in both directions between the A133 Spring Lane interchange (junction 27) and the A120 Crown interchange (junction 29) while work takes place to demolish the old Braiswick road bridge.
Traffic is being diverted via Cymberline Way, Cowdray Avenue and Ipswich Road in Colchester.
A spokesman for the Highways Agency said: “There are some delays going through Colchester town centre and it seems to be taking about 15 minutes longer to get through the centre.”
He said the road was due to reopen at 5am this morning and work was running to schedule.
Yesterday there were serious delays reported in Colchester as traffic was diverted through the town.
