The body of a dog is being recovered from the A12 near Capel St Mary this morning after it ended up on the road.
Suffolk police said that they were called to the A12 northbound between Capel St Mary and Copdock at around 8am after reports of a dog in the road.
A rolling road block was put in place to try and capture the dog but was unsuccessful.
A Suffolk police spokesman said that the dog was currently being recovered.
It is not clear at this stage as to where the dog came from or how it ended up in the road.
