A MAN arrested on suspicion of murder was due to be questioned by officers today after being released from hospital.

The 59-year-old suspect, believed to be the husband of victim Sharon Eileen Green, had been treated at Ipswich Hospital for spinal injuries for four days, after his van crash on the A12 on Friday.

Although he was held under police guard, detectives from Suffolk's major investigation team were unable to question him until his release from hospital.

Mrs Green was found at her home, formerly the Old Bell pub in Main Road, Marlesford, near Wickham Market, by a member of her family at about 6.45am on Friday.

A post mortem examination concluded her death was as a result of stab wounds to the chest.

The suspect, believed to be Mrs Green's husband Paul, was arrested on suspicion of murder following the crash on the A12's Woodbridge-bound carriageway near the Bredfield turn-off.

Floral tributes have been placed outside the Old Bell pub - which closed about five or six years ago - and police remained at the scene throughout the weekend and yesterday.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area of Marlesford or Wickham Market between midnight and 7am on Friday morning and may have seen or heard anything that may be relevant to the inquiry.

If you can help, call Suffolk police on 01473 613500 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
