A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving following a dramatic head-on smash on one of Suffolk's busiest roads, police have confirmed.
The man who has not been named was detained in fields nearby after a collision between a car and a van at 5.30am on the Ipswich-bound carriageway at Capel St Mary.
It is believed the van was travelling the wrong way down the carriageway when the collision happened.
