FIVE people have been taken to hospital following a crash involving several vehicles on the A12 today.
The accident happened near the road's junction with the A414 near Chelmsford at 11.40am.
A rapid response car, four land ambulances and the Essex Air Ambulance were sent to the scene and crews assessed six patients.
One man suffered a head injury, another had a suspected back injury whilst a third man had a variety of bumps and bruises.
An elderly couple suffering from chest pains and minor bruising were also treated.
All five patients were taken to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford whilst the sixth person was checked over at the scene and released.
