A CARE worker has spoken of his miracle escape following a crash which closed the A12 for nearly two hours.
David Begent, 51, was airlifted to hospital with suspected spinal injuries following the crash near Stratford St Mary on Sunday.
The East Anglian Air Ambulance helicopter flew a doctor to treat Mr Begent at the scene.
Speaking from Colchester Hospital, he told how his injuries were not as bad as first feared. The Colchester resident says he has been left with a suspected two broken ribs along with cuts and bruises.
