THREE people were taken to hospital today with suspected spinal injuries after being released from their vehicle after an accident on the A14 at Haughley.

Four people were in the vehicle when it crashed on the Bury-bound carriageway of the notorious stretch of road just before 10am.

An ambulance spokesman said that three were seriously hurt although their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

The fourth person received minor injuries and was also taken to Ipswich Hospital.

The accident happened near to the Little Chef on the 50 mph section of the A14 known as Haughley Bends.
