THE A14 was closed in both directions today after a serious accident at Girton, in Cambridgeshire, when a lorry collided with two cars and overturned.The accident forced the closure of the road in both directions as the lorry was blocking both carriageways.

The accident forced the closure of the road in both directions as the lorry was blocking both carriageways.
At least one of the cars involved caught fire after the accident and two people were believed to have been injured.
Traffic was diverted to the A1303 from the Hardwick roundabout and from the A11 to the A505.
Motorists were being warned to avoid the area as police said the road could be closed for several hours.
