Traffic using the junction between the A14 and Nacton Road near Ransomes Europark faced serious delays on Saturday lunchtime after a crash between two vans.

No one was hurt in the accident, but long queues of traffic soon built up as the road was partially blocked.

Police were called to scene to collect evidence and organise recovery of the damaged vehicles and to ensure the road was clear of debris before it could be fully reopened.

In the meantime many drivers were finding alternative ways of reaching Nacton or getting on to the A14.

The final recovery was taking place at about 2pm and the road was due to reopen shortly after that.

No other emergency services were called to the scene of the accident which caused major problems on one of the busiest road junctions in the Ipswich area.
