TRAFFIC jams on the A14 are expected to ease after the emergency services reopened the road following a crash near to the Copdock interchange this morning.

Motorists were stuck in rush hour queues after a car left the road on the eastbound carriageway shortly after 7.30am.

The Land Rover left the road just after the Copdock interchange and landed on the embankment causing the male driver to sustain minor injuries.

One lane of the carriageway was closed to traffic while the emergency services waited for recovery crews to arrive at the scene.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said the accident caused significant tailbacks.
