Motorists faced delays on the Orwell Bridge this morning, with drivers reporting heavy traffic on both the westbound A14 near Ipswich.

Sacks fell from the back of a lorry and blocked one lane, according to a police spokesman.

They said people experienced temporary delays in the area.

Officers were called to the scene shortly after 10.30am to help clear the carriageway.

The road was completely clear by approximately 11am.

The bridge is now clear and traffic is free flowing, the police spokesman added.
