POLICE have re-opened the Felixstowe-bound carriageway of the A14 following a major accident earlier today. A section of the road close to the Orwell Bridge was partially closed from 4am after a lorry careered into a bridge.

POLICE have re-opened the Felixstowe-bound carriageway of the A14 following a major accident earlier today.

A section of the road close to the Orwell Bridge was partially closed from 4am after a lorry careered into a bridge.

It was re-opened at 1.40pm but drivers were warned to experience further delays while the backlog of traffic cleared.

The accident resulted in the death of lorry driver Kevin Patterson, 46, of Nacton.
