Suffolk Constabulary is warning of delays as an abnormal load passes through the east of the county on Sunday morning.

The 5.2m wide, 66.8m long and 5.3m high transformer, which weighs 274,000kg, will be escorted from Sizewell Storage on King George’s Avenue in Leiston to Felixstowe Docks.

The route will see the load pass along local roads including King George’s Avenue, Lover’s Lane, B1122, A12, A14, Dock Road and Landguard Way, before following additional local roads to the destination.

The escort will begin at 8am.
