The scheme, run by ActivLives and Ipswich Borough Council with funding from Sport England, has had more than 30,000 attendances for sports including boccia, new age kurling, gymnastics and walking football over the last three years.

Now indoor target archery and yoga, both for complete beginners have been added to the schedule.

ActivIpswich’s Mike McCarthy said: “We are always looking to add new activities to our programme.

“All of the groups are informal and social. Whilst the physical activity is important, it really is the social element that encourages people to keep on coming back.”
