ActivIpswich’s showcase day due to take place on Thursday has been cancelled becuase of poor weather.

The scheme lays on scores of activities each year for people aged 45 and upwards in Ipswich who do not normally take part in regular sport and exercise, and aims to get them into regular activity in a social and relaxed space.

The showcase was due to run from 10.30am-2pm on Thursday at the Salvation Army Priory Centre in Queen’s Way, but a spokesman has now confirmed it has been cancelled because of the snow.

The event will be rearranged for an alternative date in the future.
